Direction issued by the Commission	Dr. Lenin in a e-mail complaint dated 16.06.2011 stated that one Gaya Prashad @ Surma Bhopali tortured in the Police Station Ghunghter, District Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh to solve a case and he died in police custody. The Complaint drew attention of the Commission towards some news paper clipping in the matter and stated that the police in U.P. have been violating the directions given by Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in the matter of D.K.Basu Vs state of West Bengal. He has prayed for issuing directions to the state Government to follow the directions of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in such Matters. As the case relates to death in custody of police, DG (I) is requested to collect requisite reports within eight weeks.
